Meet Regan

Hey there!

Thank you so much for stopping by to get to know me a bit better. My overall approach to therapy is to help you better connect to who you are as a person. I use a mixture of therapeutic approaches listed below on this page. Having the right coping strategies can make a world of a difference for navigating this world and I am here to assist you in finding what may work for you.

My belief is that we all have different stories and experiences that play a role in how we may cope with our current stressors and our past ones. And yes, this can include trauma. By meeting together, I would help provide psychoeducation, as well as strategies and skills from various evidence-based approaches you can bring into your life to better manage your overall well being.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. My email is reganmarietherapy@gmail.

I am excited that you are here looking to work together. Currently I work individually with 16+ year old teenagers, college age students, and adults of all ages.

BIOGRAPHY
Regan Cunningham (she/her) earned a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University in 2016 and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana in 2020. Regan holds an independent clinical license in Illinois.

Regan started working in school social work before she became a clinical therapist. Her background in public schools gave her credentials for trauma-informed therapy, using programs such as CBITS to help address the complex traumas of her students.

Soon after, Regan took on clinical therapy and has taken on training for EMDR and grief counseling. Regan believes trauma and grief can go beyond experiencing situational experiences; they can show up in the things that did not happen in our lives and can sometimes lead us to feel dismissed or misunderstood.

Regan's approach to therapy seeks to look at factors that can effect mental health including, but not limited to relationship to self, sleep, nutrition, social supports, and more.
